"Pump Up the Volume" is the only single by the British recording act M|A|R|R|S. It was released on August 3, 1987. The single was the result of an uneasy collaboration between the electronic group Colourbox and the dream pop band A.R. Kane. The song became a number-one hit on the UK Singles Chart on October 3, 1987, a position it held for 2 weeks. The double A-side also features "Anitina (The First Time I See She Dance)" as the second song.
