Helen Reddy - Delta Dawn

"Delta Dawn" is a song written by musician Larry Collins and country songwriter Alex Harvey. The first notable recording of the song was in 1971 by American singer and actress Bette Midler. In 1973, it became a hit for Helen Reddy when her version was released in June as a single from her fourth studio album, "Long Hard Climb" (1973). The song reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for one week, on September 15, 1973.
