"La Bamba" is a Mexican folk song. The song is best known from a 1958 adaptation by Ritchie Valens. It was covered by Los Lobos whose version was the title track of the 1987 film La Bamba, a bio-pic about Valens. Their version was released on June 20, 1987 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 29, 1987 a position that it held for 3 weeks.
