"Roxanne" is a song by English rock band The Police. The song was written by Sting and was released on April 7, 1978 as a single from their debut album Outlandos d'Amour. On re-release in 1979. The song peaked at No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart on May 19, 1979 and 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 28, 1979. The song ranked No. 388 on the Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and was voted No. 85 by VH1 on its list of the "100 Greatest Rock Songs".
