"Cars" is the debut solo single by English musician Gary Numan. It was released on August 21, 1979 as the lead single from his the debut solo studio album "The Pleasure Principle" (1979). It was his only single to chart. It rose to number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the UK Official Chart for one week in September 22, 1979.
