"Paint It Black" is a song recorded by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. It was released as a single in the US on 7 May 1966 and on 13 May in the UK. The song was a chart success for the Stones, It was a number one hit on the  Billboard Hot 100 (June 11, 1966 - 2 weeks) and on the UK Singles Chart (May 26, 1966 - 1 week).
